The Last Horse Camp for Kids, August 2006
The week of August 7-12 concluded our 2006 Horse Camp for Kids! We took 3 groups of kids for a week: one group in June, one in July and one in August and taught them, from scratch, safety and correct riding principles.

Each child had their own horse and a personal Counselor. It was a one-on-one camp from Monday through Friday, 10am til 3pm, with a horse show on Saturday at 10 am. The public was invited! It was amazing to see how quickly and correctly these children learned to ride. The 2nd and 3rd group learned enough to go on their first trail ride on the last day of camp!

At the Horse Show on Saturday the kids showed what they had learned through a quiz and demonstration of the following areas of study:
How to Safely Halter and Lead a Horse
Showing a Horse in Hand
Riding a Pattern in Walk and Trot

Three children progressed to canter, without loss of balance or confidence.

Each child received a diploma and a bag of gifts to celebrate their achievements.
